Chris Chaney is a jewelry designer, sculptor , and certified diamond grader who has been working in the jewelry industry all his life.
He graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in 1979 and he comes from a second generation family owned jewelry business with a retail store located in Big Spring, Texas.
Chris Grew up around Cotton farms and often found work at these farms or at the local gins. He began designing complete lines of jewelry for his family store in 1980 and spent several years doing one of a kind custom design work.  In 1994, he designed his first piece of Cotton Boll jewelry for a local farmer's wife. After great reception and success of the Cotton boll Line , which now includes over 100 different styles, he began designing peanut jewelry in 1997, launching over 60 different styles.
Mr. Chaney travels to several farm trade shows to display and sell his creations every year and at these shows he has requests from farmers growing other crops. This has led to new designs in corn, wheat, soybean, rice, tomato, sunflower, and grape designs.  There are also a few styles available depicting mallard ducks  and also a magnolia enamel piece. Chris relies upon God for his inspiration in the creation  of all the pieces he makes. There are many more design themes he has planed for in the future, including other agriculturally related items, as well as floral themes.  If you're interested in reading an article written by Lana Williams about the artist type the following into your browser's location
